Allianz Arena (new). 66,000 seats.Investment: approx Euro 340m The Games
The Allianz Arena was built as the showcase arena for the 2006 World Cup in Germany and replaces Munich's famous Olympiastadion which played host to the 1974 World Cup final.
Today Munich's brand new 66,000 seater stadium (the Alliance Arena) is home to both Munich's 1st division football clubs (FC Bayern MŸnchen and TSV 1860 MŸnchen). This unique stadium is able to change colours depending on which team is currently playing. (Bayern Muenchen ' red or TSV 1860 ' blue).
The Allianz Arena, opened in 2005 and home to both Munich clubs - Bayern and TSV 1860, was designed purely as football stadium. It took less than three years to build this architecturally unique arena.
