The new Hamburg Stadium, the AOL Arena, opened its doors on 2nd September 2000 for the international match between Germany and Greece. It has a capacity of 50,000 and is home to 1st Bundesliga club Hamburger SV. The Hamburg Stadium is one of the five-star stadiums in the European Football Union. It was built to replace the old Volkspark Stadium and was the first of the twelve World Cup venues to be completed.
